The Month of 100 Things

Day 1
Starting early on 12/29 and I have a small head start as there is a bag for the thrift store in the back of the car.

Today's items include 23 items going to the arc thrift store on West Colfax (by Casa Bonita) and the best ones are two travel books, and three scarves...




I'm also returning a skirt and some socks to TJ Maxx...the skirt was meant to look professional, but on me appeared to be suited to one profession, and it is NOT for me. The socks looked cute until I realized they were thigh high. It's like I went shopping on Freaky Friday. Good riddance to Lot 1!

Day 2
This is hard to do for two reasons...
1. I can find things I'd like to get rid of, but they require Randy's approval, and he's at work.
2. I'm a purger by nature so I have recently purged junk drawers and clothing.
Still I have a sentimental and a lazy streak, so there must be 100 items that don't belong here.
Today's items: 10

Old cell phones
8 ink cartridges being recycled for Staples credit
Finally tossing the plant I got on my birthday and admitting I killed it
Fake Converse
Jacket Randy hates on me
Christmas plate I will never use again now that I've eaten the delicious pound cake from my neighbor
Reading glasses and sunglasses that didn't work out
Candy canes from "not this year"
An ornament we got as a gift but don't like
...and no offense to Dawn and Arlene who started all this, but I'm scanning the pertinent pages of the HWS binder and moving that bulk on out.
Tah dah!

Today's purge with Randy joining in brings us past the halfway point... Nothing too interesting. More clothes, some household items. I'm subtracting a few i claimed yesterday since i never got out of the house and some require effort i haven't yet made...a trip to the consignment store etc. But all said and done we are at 54 as soon as i hit the post office (eBay) and thrift store.

We purged extra hats and gloves and have decided to keep them in our cars for when we see homeless people without enough winter layers on. Far more gratifying than a thrift store drop.
